James Alden Richins is from Henefer, Utah. He met his wife, Dorothy, on a blind date. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple, Oct 14, 1955. They first lived in Provo where Dorothy worked at BYU Employment Bureau until Alden graduated from BYU in 1957 and obtained employment with The Seminaries and Institutes program of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which, over a period of 38 years, took them to Duchesne, Coalville, Manti, Davis County, Ogden Institute, Jerusalem, Hong Kong and a CES mission in Johannesburg, South Africa, from which they served throughout the continent. Dorothy and Alden also served a Farm Management mission and a mission to Alabama Birmingham and loved serving together in the Bountiful Temple in recent years.
