JanaLee Cox Longhurst had only been working at BYU’s staff employment office for a year when Jim Kearl needed an assistant as he filled the role of associate academic vice president with oversight of the newly constructed Jerusalem Center. She was hired, and 30+ years later, still loves every moment of association she has with the Center’s students, faculty, and staff. JanaLee is a Program Administrator in the Jerusalem Center’s Provo office, with responsibilities for interviewing each student as part of their application process and supporting the Jerusalem Center’s many special projects like the newly organized BYU Jerusalem Center Alumni Association. Because of her own cherished experiences in the Holy Land, the opportunity to facilitate those once-in-a-lifetime moments for others has become the most gratifying part of her job. A graduate of BYU-I, and a part-time author, JanaLee and her husband David have four children and nine grandchildren, whom they hope to take with them on their next trip to Jerusalem.
