Jerry Sandberg

1999, 2000

Jerry Sandberg was invited to teach at the BYU Jerusalem Center for the 1999-2000 school year.  His wife, Becky was an adjunct nursing professor/instructor for Ricks College nursing students who were on the program. Something unique about our 10 months there was the start of the new millennium and our “survival” of Y2K.

Jerry Sandberg received both a master’s degree (counseling and guidance) and a Ph.D. (counseling psychology) from Brigham Young University.  He worked part-time for county agencies, hospitals, private clinics, and his own private solo practice.

He had two concurrent careers. He taught 37 years for Church Education (Seminaries and Institutes and BYU) and he worked part-time as a psychologist for 23 years.

He was married for 47 years to Rebecca Sandberg, FNP-C, who died June 2024 of breast cancer.  He has four children and fourteen grandchildren.
