Bio for President Roy Huff
President Huff grew up in Redlands in Southern California. He served a mission to the Hamburg, Germany Mission as a young man. After his mission he went to BYU in Provo, Utah where he met his wife in his very first class on campus. He and his wife have been married for more than 36 years and have six children and ten grandchildren.
President Huff received a Bachelor’s degree in Russian and German, and Master’s degree in Russian Language Acquisition, and a PhD in Adult Language Learning. He worked for a short time for the United States Government, then as a seminary teacher for the church in Salt Lake City and Ririe, Idaho. Then he got his “dream job” as a Religion Professor at BYU-Idaho. He served in the administration at BYU-Idaho as the Assocaite Academic Vice President of Curriculum for 5 years. He taught at the Jerusalem Center for two years (In 1999-2000, and again in 2008-2009) and then was the academic director there for two additional years (From 2016-2018). He and his wife are currently serving as Mission Leaders for the Baltic Mission (2020-2023).
He enjoys racquetball, running, traveling with his family and being a grandpa.
