Tricia Hammond Petrey

Historian

Tricia studied at the Jerusalem Center in the Fall of 1992, fulfilling a long awaited dream of studying in the Holy Land. As a result of her experience there, she determined to serve a mission and was shortly after called to the Canada, Montreal French speaking mission. Upon returning, she completed school at BYU with a bachelor’s degree in Family History and Genealogy and a minor in French. Tricia worked as a research assistant at the National Archives in Washington D.C. and went on to earn a professional accreditation in genealogy. She has taught continuing education courses, lectured, consulted and conducted both company and private client research ever since. Along with research, Tricia is also a biofeedback practitioner and advises clients on methods in natural health and healing. She is the mother of five children and loves to spend time with her family outdoors, as well as travel together near and far. A recent highlight was returning home to the Holy Land with her family to introduce them to the people and places she came to love. Though she left Jerusalem decades ago, Jerusalem has never left her. She enjoys drawing stories out of fellow alumni to remind us of the ways our experience in the Holy Land shaped our hearts and lives.
