Vaughn L Thomas was born on March 14, 1930, in Wales, Utah.
Vaughn spent hours outside riding horses and in the mountains. His mother inspired his lifelong love of music. He sang with his children, in choirs, and was a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for seven years. In 1949, he married Connie May Larson in the Manti Temple, and together they raised four children. His descendants include 33 grandchildren, 105 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Vaughn dedicated 33 years to the Church Educational System, serving as a master teacher and visionary administrator. His service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints included roles as Bishop, Branch President, Scoutmaster and many more. Vaughn and Connie also served two missions-one in Oklahoma and another in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. His impact extended beyond formal roles; wherever he went, Vaughn changed lives through spirit-filled teaching. His legacy of faith, music, and dedication lives on in the hearts of family, friends, and countless students. Vaughn passed away peacefully on June 15, 2024, while holding the hand of his beloved wife. His 94 years were marked by devotion to family, singing, and testifying of Jesus Christ.
