2007 Fall

2007 Fall

“How unique it was, arriving in a foreign country 7,000 miles from home with eighty total strangers and leaving four months later as friends. We were all very different people, many of whom never would have become friends in a normal environment, but there was not a single person that I didn’t love in that group by the time we left. We spent four months studying God’s love for His children, and we internalized that love and radiated it out to each other and felt it for every Jew and Palestinian in Jerusalem. We had amazing adventures together, we threw goofy parties with makeshift Halloween costumes or Santa in harem pants, we played some of the most rowdy games of soccer I’ve ever experienced, and we all went way out of our comfort zones together. And woven throughout all that was our daily walk in Christ’s literal footsteps.”  -Rebecca Wiglama
