The 81 students this semester had the opportunity to travel to Jordan and Egypt in addition to their travels throughout Israel. They also spent a week in Galilee in the kibbutz, hosted a Christmas concert for the locals, visited the Biblical Zoo, attended an Israeli soccer game at Teddy Stadium, enjoyed a beach day in Tel Aviv, and got to play the YMCA bells which could be heard throughout all of West Jerusalem. Some of the favorite shop owners from this semester were: Shabaan and Omar, Rita (Shabaan’s brother across the street), Omar, and Jimmy! 3 couples who met during this semester in Jerusalem ended up getting married! Roy Huff was the program director along with his wife, Jeanna. Professors were Frank (and Jill) Judd, Jared (and Margaret) Ludlow, and Scott (and Janice) Esplin. Service couples were Doug and Janna Coombs, Brent and Rosemary Lind, Reg and Carol Christensen, and Garth and Kathleen Holyoak. This semester was also lucky enough to have teachers Ophir Yarden (Judaism), Bashir Bashir (Palestine), Judy Goldman (Hebrew), and Ayman Jebara (Arabic).
