Mormons seek to ease fears: Stating their case

In 1987, students were living in the Jerusalem Center. BYU was still being very careful to keep public opinion on their side in regard to the Center. The Jews who had opposed the Center were still worried that despite the commitment made by the Church and the School and even each individual student, proselytizing would still happen or that the Jerusalem Center might still be some sort of missionary center. This was an article that was found in the Jerusalem Post in September of 1987 clarifying that everyone was committed to the promises made. This article quotes David Galbraith along with students.
