During the Fall 2017 semester, former President of the United States Donald Trump announced the movement of the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. This caused considerable unrest in the country. The students were in lock-down for about a week, unable to leave the center. Thankfully the unrest was quickly resolved and they were able to resume their normal activities. The students in this semester had the opportunity to travel to Jordan and Greece as additional excursions to their travels throughout Israel. They spent Thanksgiving in Galilee, hosted a Christmas concert for the locals, and celebrated Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot in true Jewish fashion.
