Dear Journal

We added a new verse of  lyrics to the song “I’m trying to be like Jesus” and as we sang the spirit was almost tangible.

I came to learn of Jesus, to walk the same path he walked.

To study the words he gave us, in places that they were taught.

Galilee, Jerusalem, Mount of Olives, Jericho, Perea, from Dan to Beersheba.

Chorus

We’ve followed the triumphal entry, we’ve seen the trees of Gethsemane,

we’ve studied the teachings and felt his love, we’ve been where the Savior was.

Chorus

I’m trying to find you Jesus, I’ve traveled across the sea.

but the paths that I walk don’t matter, the change must occur in me.

Beauty abounds in the places you stayed, the places you suffered, healed, taught and prayed.

But the loveliest place is the place where you are, and just like the wise men I’ll follow the star,

I’ll follow your light until I find your hand. Your home is my heart, not this land.
